My New Hip

What is this site about?

This is my hip charity! Me. One person who needs a hip replacement and has no money to pay for it. It is not a non-profit corporation and anything donated is NOT tax deductible, it is a gift to me to help me obtain a new hip so I can walk again.

It is about my left hip. Arthritis is eating it up and I find walking and standing painful. It is effecting my weight because I cannot exercise as I should. It effects my mental health in that, finding it harder to do for myself what I am used to doing, I need to rely more on others. It makes earning a living harder because I cannot get about very well in order to obtain customers.

( X-Ray is over a year old...I know it is worse now but there is no point in spending time and money to prove it when I still can't do anything about yet. )

I own a small web page design company which comes with its own expenses. I have a house ( and a mortgage of course ) and a car ( also with payments ) but no savings and and no health insurance. I had to cancel that over 12 years ago as the rates grew to where I could not afford the premiums which at today's prices exceed my mortgage payment. As my cost of living grew, my income could not keep pace to allow for the rise in health insurance, property tax and property insurance.

Awhile ago I heard on the news about a woman who set up a web site to ask strangers for money to get her sister out of jail. She raised over $28,000. I thought, if there are Americans generous enough to post bail for a stranger, surely there are those who would chip in to help pay for hip joint replacement surgery.

I plan on going to Belgium for my new hip because I can get better care for 1/3 the cost of the same operation here in the United States. ( read the news below )

Anyone willing to help is very welcome. Even if you can't contribute, you still have my thanks for having read this far. Hopefully you will all contact your Congressman and ask that some progress be made to assure EVERY American can receive what ever health care they need regardless of their financial status.
